We photographed Jess and Alex’s winter wedding last December at one of the most popular wedding venues in St. Paul, the James J. Hill Reference Library. The choice of the venue for this couple wasn’t random – Jess loves reading, which is why they decided to start the new chapter of their lives in the library! It was a very cold winter in Minnesota and the temperature of that day was beyond freezing, but the newlyweds’ love kept everyone’s hearts warm! Our couple picked a vintage theme for their wedding and it was phenomenal – from the bride’s brooch bouquet and shoes, to their wedding programs and invitation – every little detail made this winter wedding unique and unforgettable. Jess and Alex came up with plenty of activities for their guests as well, so everyone had tons of fun during their reception. But the most fun probably came from the groomsmen – never before we have seen guys who love dancing that much! The night ended up with Jess and Alex bearing -15 degree weather to take the last photo of the night in Rice Park next to the Christmas lights – it was Alex’s biggest photography wish and we were glad to make him and his bride happy! We love when our couples step a little outside of their comfort zone – it always makes for great photographs in the end! We are very grateful that we got to be a part of Jess and Alex’s unique winter wedding and we enjoyed getting to know them and their families!
