Last Saturday, our open style photo booth was part of a fundraising event at the Ukrainian Event Center. Being there was not just a part of what we do for our work, but there was a very personal reason behind it too. Since Irina is Ukrainian, it was really important for her to be part of this event. After spending the last three months worrying about family and friends back in Ukraine, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to help.
All the donations raised during this event are going to the people who got injured or killed during the protests. Since the beginning of protests in Ukraine in November 2013, about 100 people died and roughly about 570 people injured.
It was an amazing night for us as well as all the attendees which included wonderful performances by local Ukrainian-American folk bands and ensembles, delicious Ukrainian food and lots of amazing people of many nationalities who care about helping Ukraine in such a hard and difficult time. We are beyond thankful to everyone who made this night so great and who worked hard to put everything together!
